When we read articles like this one, it really makes us mad!  A woman from Santa Monica, Alice Hunter, went to the Pier and wanted to ride the ferris wheel.  She was alone, but why should that matter?

"I asked, was it because of safety concerns, would it throw the [gondolas] off balance?" Hunter said. "They told me, 'We don't know what you might do up there. You might throw yourself off at the top for all we know.'"
Really, ferris wheel operator?  Really?  When did people decide that all singles are suicidal?  We must've missed that memo!
